Go Ape! About.

What is it?
It’s not in the dictionary, but if it was, Go Ape would be described as a ‘tree-top adventure’.
Go Ape! take one lush, green forest and a healthy dollop of breathtaking scenery; blend with a smattering of tree-top high wires, tricky crossings (using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire) and wind-in-your-face zip wires; finished off with a liberal dose of people in search of their inner Tarzan.
Go Ape! kit people out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners, give them a 30 minute safety briefing and training and let them loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees. Of course, instructors are always on hand, regularly patrolling the forests (not in monkey suits unfortunately!)
The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets you outdoors in the fresh air and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun.
'Rules'

Minimum Age – 10yrs

Minimum Height - 1.4m (4ft7")

Maximum Weight - 20.5 stones (130kg)

The maximum number of participants per session is 14. You can do the course with your
pri-mates though, don’t worry! But don’t panic if you are going with more people; you can simply book more sessions to cater for the number of people you are going with.
At Go Ape we use harnesses to make sure you’re nice and safe throughout your outdoor adventure. The maximum waist measurement of the harness is 110cm and the leg loops (which go around the top of your thighs) is 70cm.

Under 18yr olds must be supervised by a participating adult.

One participating adult can supervise EITHER two under 18 year olds (where one or both children are 10-15 years old) OR up to five 16-17 year olds. Participating adults may not supervise from the ground.

Doing Go Ape does require a degree of physical fitness but if you can climb up a rope ladder you should be fine.

The Go Ape policy is that we recommend that pregnant women do not take part on the course. However, we do not want to be discriminatory and ultimately the choice is yours. We are not medical experts and therefore suggest that you seek advice from your doctor on the matter.

The course takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete.

We do not provide storage facilities for your belongings at the Go Ape cabin. You may take cameras on the course as long as they are secured to you and tucked away to prevent them from getting caught (you could always buy a lanyard from us).

You may have as many people as you like watching you going ape through the trees. They will not be able to enter the course, but can watch, take pictures and laugh from the paths below (Restrictions apply at Woburn Safari Park).

Before you head out onto the course, you’ll be given a half-hour safety briefing by one of our qualified experiencedinstructors. When you’re 40-feet up in the air and walking across a wire the thickness of one of your fingers, you need to know you’re safe.

Here you’ll learn and try out the obstacles at low levels, and get to grips with the equipment. It’s not complicated, but its important stuff and it will give youconfidence to enjoy your time up in the trees.
After your training we won’t supervise you on a one to one basis. You’ll be responsible for yourselves on the course and for any under 18′s that you have signed for.
